547 mm / 24 x 1-1/4" / Schwinn 24 x 1-3/8" S5 or S6 tires This is a size used on older Schwinn juvenile lightweights. This is not to be confused with the more common 540 mm (English 24 x 1 3/8) or 520 mm (24 x 1 1/8) sizes.
The 26 x 1-3/8 x 1-1/4 S6 tires were used on vintage Schwinns like the Breeze(pictured), Racer, Traveler, Speedster and Collegiate. Some Older British Club bikes use this size, designated 26 x 1 1/4 EA.1 This tire has a slightly larger diameter than the Raleigh (590) tire. Straight 'Ribbed' Tread. Available in all black or black with gum sidewalls.
These tires fit Schwinn 26" "Middleweight / Cruiser" rims from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Note, this is interchangeable only with tires marked with a fraction, i.e. 1 3/4". This is not interchangeable with tires marked with a decimal, i.e. 1.75" Altough the numbers are mathematically equal, the rim and tire sizes designated by fractions vs. decimals are never the same. ISO: 47 x 571 Not the same as the 26 x 1-1/2 F12 Canadian size. Choose 26x1.5/1.75 Schrader valve tubes. See related items below.
