Designed for mastering the backstreets of the urban jungle, the Back Alley is a fixed gear single speed steel bike made with equal parts artistry and attitude. It features riser handlebars that put the rider in a more upright riding position to spot and dodge obstacles ahead, BMX-style grips, a steel frame and fork, fixed/free capabilities (to run as a single speed or fixed gear), as well as removable brake hardware/cable guides for a clean look. The Back Alley was inspired by Nelson Vails—the first African-American cyclist to win an Olympic Medal in cycling. Created by Raleigh in collaboration with Nelson and his best friend, famous graffiti artist, Zephyr, the Back Alley’s story actually takes place before Nelson’s Olympic days when he rode fixed gear bikes as a messenger in NYC. The frame features meaningful original illustrations by Zephyr including Nelson’s signature Converse Chuck Taylor Hi Tops, an iconic dime (what Nelson used to call his messenger service for the location of his next job), the flag of the Checkered Cab (onto which Nelson grabbed bumpers to catch rides), the notorious TOGA bike shop (where messengers hung out), and Cat’s Paw Hill in Central Park (where the crew met to ride and skate), among others.
Whether you’re riding round-trip to the office, meeting friends for lunch, or grabbing a few groceries on the way home, the Raleigh Detour 1 Step Thru will get you there quickly and comfortably. The rack and fender-ready aluminum frame and fork, are lightweight, yet prepared to haul both you and your gear. The Shimano EZ Fire trigger shifters put 21 gears at your fingertips, while the spring-loaded comfort saddle, no slip pedals, and comfort grips will keep all your contact points with the bike comfy and happy.
Made for fun and adventure on light trails and paved paths, the Raleigh Eva 26 is designed for riders who are too big for a 24-inch bike but not comfortable on a bike with 27.5-inch or larger wheels. The Eva 26 is made with a durable steel frame, 3 gears up front, 7 in the back, and tires wide enough to tackle any bump in the path. Narrow handlebars and smaller grips keep the bike comfy and easy to control for smaller riders. Whether cruising around town, spinning on the bike path, or exploring off-road, the Eva 26 is ready to roam.
A fun, modern take on the classic cruiser, the Raleigh Gala women’s bike hearkens back to simpler times when cruising to the malt shop or soda fountain was the weekend highlight. Made with a classy, women’s specific, steel, low-step thru frame and offering an ultra-comfortable upright and relaxed riding position, this bike absorbs the bumps while providing long-lasting durability. With a single speed and coaster brakes to keep it simple and low maintenance, the Gala encourages stopping often to smell the roses and enjoy the view. The Gala is decked out with white tip fin fenders (just like Raleigh introduced 100 years ago), the heritage Heron head inside the chain ring, fashionable metal details, matching chainguard, classic brass bell, kickstand, and a rear rack with removable, recyclable basket with handle for shopping trips.
The Jazzi 16 is the perfect gateway for a girl who is 3-5 years old and preparing for her first “big kid” bike. Made for kids between 39” & 45” tall, the aluminum frame is lightweight to make getting started easy, but durable enough to survive the learning process. Coaster brakes keep it simple and take the confusion out of learning to stop – simply push the pedals backwards and the brake is applied. Training wheels are included for learning balance, but can be removed when your little one is ready to ride without help. Fun colors and great patterns will have her experiencing the thrill of riding a bike in style.
When your little girl is ready to graduate from the push bike or training wheels to a big girl bike with pedals AND two kinds of brakes, the Jazzi 20 is more than ready to oblige. Designed for girls ages 4-8 years old between 3’8”-4’4” in height, the Jazzi 20 is made with a lightweight aluminum step-thru frame for easy on and off and it’s bright, fun colors are sure to spark her excitement. Designed to help young riders learn to stop smoothly and effectively, the Jazzi 20 gives her two ways to stop: 1) coaster brakes (what she may be used to if she had a bike with training wheels previously), and 2) v-brakes or hand brakes (for her to practice stopping like mommy and daddy). The Jazzi 20 is a single speed (no shifting required) to keep it simple while she learns to master those brakes. A padded seat and soft grips keep her comfy while wide tires give her stability. The painted chain guard also protects her little legs and pants. Get her jazzed for bike riding on the Jazzi 20.
