Racks, Bicycle Mounted
Planet Bike's Eco Rack is made of oversize tubular 6061-aluminum for maximum strength and stability. It's designed to provide complete heel clearance when you install packs. And, the pre-installed rack hardware makes it a cinch to mount the Eco Rack to your bike, too. This rack fits most road, mountain and hybrid bicycles and even includes a built-in platform, which doubles as a mini-fender on rainy rides.
Dress up your Brompton with the BM-R3 rack made by Nitto specifically for Brompton. It is beautifully constructed of Cro-Moly tubing and nickel plated to a lovely soft finish Nitto calls "dull-bright". Stronger and better looking than the standard Brompton rack, it will serve you well and look stylish for the life of your Brompton. Bikes with racks ("R" version) are more stable when folded than those without racks and also roll better due to the larger support surface provided by 4 wheels rather than 3 on the rack-less versions. - For an "E" version bike (no fenders), the supplied hardware is all you need. - For an "L" version bike, longer bolts are required for mounting the rack stays at the same point as the existing fender stays. Put a note in the comment field at checkout and we will include 2 M5x20 stainless steel bolts for an extra $5. - For an "R" version bike the Nitto rack will simply replace the existing Brompton rack with the supplied hardware. NOTE: The BM-R3 rack has a single hole light/reflector mount. To mount a light or reflector with 50mm or 80mm on-center holes, you will need the B&M single hole adapter (see below). 1.55 lbs/703g
